Abalone
Abalone is a French strategy game sold at nearly 4.5 million copies in about 30 countries, which has been elected as the “game of the decade” at the Festival International des Jeux in 1998. Its very simple rules (pushing the opponent’s marbles out of the board) make it universal.
It is possible to play on-line on the game’s official server, NetAbalone, by downloading the related game module (for Windows only).
Purpose and content
is a website dedicated to the great game of Abalone. Developed by passionate players, its vocation is dual: to enrich the knowledge around the game, and to support its on-line organization and practice.
The main part of the website is the section Tournaments, displaying all the data about the on-line championships organized on NetAbalone. Some of the related games can be downloaded there, and seen using the software Aba-Pro, by Tino Werner.
The forum, administrated and moderated by NetAbalone’s SysOp, allows the players to chat about the game; for instance, beginners can ask for advice there.
Rules to respect on NetAbalone
- Chat zones are only for members of NetAbalone’s community and are designed to help them to play with one another
- Flood is forbidden in the chat zones
- Insults and impolite or vulgar remarks are not tolerated
- Advertising is forbidden
- Asking for illicit files in the game module or in the forum is forbidden
- If a player does not respect one of the rules above, the webmaster can take the appropriate measures, up to the banishment of the account and the expulsion of the player from the rankings
